Real-Time Logistics Support

Why do companies use PDAs to support their processes?

Implementing PDAs is essential for businesses where fast and accurate on-site documentation is key. These devices provide real-time connectivity with the ERP system, ensuring that all entered data is instantly processed. This not only reduces errors but also significantly speeds up workflows. In warehouse, production, and logistics environments, PDAs offer major advantages — all information stays up to date and accessible from a single interface.

How does our PDA solution differ from traditional ERP mobile apps?

Our PDA solution stands out from standard ERP mobile apps by being designed for industrial-grade PDA devices rather than everyday smartphones. These devices are durable, dust- and shock-resistant, and come with built-in barcode and RFID readers to support on-site operations. While ERP mobile apps mainly handle administrative tasks, our PDA solution directly supports warehouse and production workflows with real-time data entry and error reduction.

What benefits do PDA-based mobile applications offer?

One of the main advantages of PDA-based applications is their process-specific optimization. Only essential functions appear on the interface, allowing users to complete tasks quickly and easily. Real-time data connectivity ensures that entered information is instantly available in the ERP system, increasing efficiency and reducing errors. PDAs also enable fast warehouse identification, more accurate order picking, and reliable delivery tracking. Immediate recording of production data improves planning, while traceability supports quality assurance and full supply chain transparency.

PDA Solution for Supporting Internal Processes

Meet the Industrial PDA

PDA stands for Personal Digital Assistant. While it originally referred to handheld personal assistant devices, today the term covers industrial handheld computers. Modern industrial PDAs go much further: they’re mobile computers purpose-built for business environments, enabling on-site data capture and management—and accelerating the digitalization of enterprise processes.

Key Features:

  • Android-based OS — familiar and easy to use.
  • Built-in barcode, QR, and RFID readers for rapid identification.
  • Industrial-grade build — shock- and dust-resistant housing with long battery life.
  • Wireless connectivity — Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile broadband.
In short: a handheld industrial mobile workstation that combines a scanner, a computer, and a communications device.

Workflow-Optimized Interface

Our PDA app displays exactly what each workflow needs—no clutter, no distractions. Every screen is tailored to the task and the user.

Designed for small displays, it helps staff work faster and error-free. For example, during goods receiving only item code, barcode, and quantity appear.

Core Functions

The app covers all on-site logistics tasks performed with a handheld device.

Goods Receiving: Capture inbound items, enter quantities, and create lot/batch or serial numbers.

✔ Order Picking: Assemble order lines accurately while minimizing errors.

✔ Internal Transfers: Move goods between warehouses or storage locations with full record keeping.

✔ Delivery Note Management: Record outbound items on the spot and support shipping documentation.

✔ Production Reporting: Post production output and quality data directly to the system.

✔ Identification & Traceability: Barcode, QR, and RFID scanning with lot and serial control for end-to-end traceability.

✔ Stock Information: Identify any item via barcode scan and view price and inventory details instantly.

These capabilities are used daily by our customers—manufacturers, retailers, and logistics providers alike.

Live Data Sync

Every action in the PDA app is written to Flexium ERP instantly. Internal logistics can’t tolerate delays—there’s no “sync later.” When material moves from point A to B, it must appear in the system immediately. This ensures production, picking, and shipping always run on up-to-date data. Built on Android and designed for always-online use, users record everything in real time, keeping processes transparent and error-free.

In-House Development

Flexium ERP and the PDA app are built by the same engineering team, ensuring a fully native fit. This isn’t a bolt-on integration; it’s designed around the ERP’s logic end to end. Every feature mirrors the system’s structure and data handling, so customers work in a unified, stable environment where ERP and PDA functions complement each other seamlessly.

Process Support

The integration focuses on internal logistics and production workflows. It supports inter-warehouse transfers, goods receiving, order picking, outbound delivery note management, and production reporting. Labels can be printed directly from the PDA, with each action recorded instantly in the ERP. Lot/batch and serial number control enables precise traceability, including expiry dates and supplier details. Together, these capabilities ensure every internal process connects seamlessly to the ERP system.

Expandable Solution

Today’s features focus on in-house processes, and we’re already developing capabilities for off-site use. With a cloud backbone, the PDA app will run over mobile data, making it fit for field work and transportation workflows. Planned add-ons include on-site courier signature capture and integration with your CRM. This ensures the solution covers not only current needs but future business requirements as well.
